sun. sand. fruit shake. dolphin tattoo. boracay.

ruth... the beach bum... well, the picture actually has a rock in the background and i admit the water isn't your usual crystal clear boracay water, but that is WILLY's ROCK, people! and i don't know where all those algae came from. more pics to be posted on boracay next time. they're with a friend of mine. in her digital camera. it's taking a while coz she took 900+ pics during that trip. that's why you guys are stuck with only pics of ME. hehehe! well, the trip was okay. met and got to know plenty of people. there were 15 Deaf people on this trip(am i right, guys?) and 4 hearing people. we got there by boat(my second time to ride an overnight boat. the first one was from cebu to bohol)... i got to do some stuff in my LIST of things to do... swim(clear blue water!! check), get a tan (check, face is still peeling, guys), henna tattoo (check, it's of a dolphin. will post it here next time), massage (check, it was the best one!)and drink fruit shake (aaahhh!!! what i've been looking forward to). i also got to see what the fuss is all about on those beach parties held here every year. now i know what it looks like... hehehe. the only thing i wasn't able to do was eat at THE ENGLISH BAKERY. i loved that resto! food was excellent. oh well.

family reunion

my grandpa celebrated his 80th birthday last feb 27 and it was a nice one coz my aunts from los angeles flew in just to be there. it was a fun-filled week of shopping, catching up and eating at saisaki's. hehehe. it was really very nice to see them again. i think my lolo and lola liked the fact that everyone was under the same roof together. when i grow old, i'd like to be able to grow old with the person that i love... go to boracay with my whole family and eat at saisaki's. it was also nice to here stories about them growing up, i didn't know we owned a restaurant and a barber shop back in batangas. the restaurant was called TRAVELLERS. weirdly ironically nice, eh? i think i got my travelling bug from my lola, my sports on tv addiction from my lolo, my positive attitude towards like and determination to succeed from my aunts and my non-quitter attitude from my mom. hehehehe. my beauty and brains... solely my own doing (hyukhyukhyuk)

Filipino Sign Language

i got to attend this FSL seminar last month and it was cool. worth taking an absence from work. attending something that you firmly believe in. that's amazing, eh? i learned a ton of things as well. for the ignorant(hehehe) FSL is Filipino Sign Language and i firmly believe it is the natural language of the Deaf (well, it really actually is) and it's till growing, being researched. i am glad to be a part of this seminar. it was illuminating, inspiring and truly just awesome. the lectures were interesting and it just made me wonder how long SAID will catch up to what i have just discovered -- that FSL should play a major part of the Deaf education.... and not a minor one. that's still a long way ahead, i think. but i hope they give it a shot.

overworked and underpaid

12:35 a.m.

you know how there are times in your life when everything seems to be going slowly and then there are the other times in your life when everything seems to be a whirlwind and there doesn't seem to have enough time for everything? this is presently my state of mind. i am pressured to to all the things i have to do by this week and trust me it isn't easy feeling sleepy all day when you're supposed to be working. not easy to be drinking caffe latte's every night and feeling like your brain is fried from lack of sleep and your nerves are shot from drinking too much coffee.. it's hard to think properly when you feel like your brain is running on overdrive.... and everything you do, say, think just doesn't make sense anymore simply cos you're damn tired....

i just spent two to three hours trying to send the publisher of the school yearbook pictures that i really have to send tonight and it won't work. i feel like crying, shouting, breaking down, throwing away my seattle's best iced caffe latte and just freaking going to bed. i am tired of waking up in the morning half asleep, seeing all my things spread all around cos i don't have the time to fix them and looking at the mountain of work that still needs to be done. i am just PLAIN TIRED. making this entry cost me some precious minutes that i could've spent working but geez i just felt like i needed the break or else will go crazy already. i needed to spill my thoughts and so here it is. I AM GOING TO SLEEP KNOWING THAT I WILL REGRET GOING TO SLEEP COS I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING AT ALL TONIGHT. I FEEL SO BAD, TIRED, DRAINED AND GUILTY THAT I HAVEN'T DONE MUCH TONIGHT. self-pity? i will think about it while sleeping. .........
